Anyone use spyglasses for instead of binoculars?

Like the title says, I know there is the likes of the spotting scopes on the market, though they appear to be both sized and priced rather like DSLR lenses - so no point having a spotting scope if you are already carrying a DSLR+long glass.

What I am after though is something sort of pocket sized that is like a spyglass - I've tried binoculars and find that I tend to not use them whilst I have the camera in hand - so I'm thinking a single spyglass might be a more suitable option
