Just purchased one for a good price. I always knew that my monitor was not calibrated properly once I got my pictures back from printing and they appear darker than they did after touch ups.

Anyway, I fired the Spyder3 up last night and saw instant results. I was just looking to find out how other users recommend use of this colorimeter. Tips, tricks, ambient light scenarios etc.

Thanks in advance.

Have been using the Spyder since version 2. Currently have the Spyder3 Studio. Phenomenal product - phenomenal service. I can't say enough good things about it.

If the Spyder3 is like any other colourimetre ambient light won't be an issue when calibrating, unless you are calibrating to a target based on the colour temperature of you ambient light in the first place.

I have no experience with the unit itself but I know someone with a Spyder 2 and my monitor manual says not to use the Spyder 2 for wide gamut displays, but apparently the Spyder3 is fine for this purpose.

I am sure you'll not be disappointed.
