Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum and already have a question it's been bothering me for a little while. When I take my pics I get a raw and a JPEG file. Many times I'm more pleased with the way my JPEGs look, so I'd like to have those settings applied to my RAW files since it hasn't been compressed, therefore no info has been lost or changed and it has better quality. I Have done it before, but there's no way I can remember how it was. It was either with Camera RAW, Bridge or the software Canon 60D came with, it was just a matter of just few clicks. Any help would be appreciated it.

thank you

The software that came with the camera, Canon DPP will apply the camera settings by default.

Some Raw file types are compressed.
I've not found anywhere that Canon says if .cr2 is a compressed Raw file, or not.

Speaking of that, Canon's so-called "Faithful" setting quite often produces a very beautiful image. The name does not seem appropriate to me though; the name implies a sort of true-to-life, true-to-reality connotation, and in my estimation it's much more like "far better than reality", without being garish.
