Are photo prints headed towards extinction?

Pretty hard to mount a digital file on your wall.
Not if you're using a digital photo frame or displaying on a flat-screen.

agreed. as those become cheaper and bigger it probalby won't be long till you see 30x42 photo frames on walls that can have pics uploaded from your computer wirelessly.

Here's a photo I personally printed....I don't think it'd have the same effect on a computer screen...

They said computers would make a paperless society. :lmao:
Vinyl records are making a comback.
People still buy new film cameras.
Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Staples, Costco, CVS, etc still print boatloads, big boatloads of 4x6 prints.

i'd rather make a cpl prints than pay the electricity that a 40" photo screen is gonna eat up...

I don't think making prints will ever die out. There's nothing quite like seeing a good piece of work blown up and hanging on a wall. A large, well done, print can do so much more than viewing the picture on a screen.

You might already have one. I use my 52" flat screen with my Apple TV (loads of other devices do the same thing) and wirelessly synch pictures to it. I only use this feature when we are having a party, though as I wouldn't want to burn out the TV. It's still only max res of 1920x1080. What would be really interesting is if they could make a static page, like a Kindle page, that requires very low power and is in colour.
