Are sub $100 compacts any good?

I notice that there are a lot of sub $100USD compacts out there and they look like they'd be nice to stuff inside a shirt pocket for travel. Are they worth it? I notice also that most of them have a 24 or 25mm wide plus an F1.2 lens. Wouldn't that be considered pretty good?

They're a lot of them and they're great for keeping in a case on your belt, always ready and available but not in your way when you don't need them. I've always had good results with the Canon Powershot and Elph series. Here are some of them -about 90% were taken with these type Canons. https://www.flickr.com/photos/alanklein2000/sets/
