Arista EDU, anyone used it?

I've shot a couple rolls of Artista EDU and am doing about an 8 minute development time in D-76. The problem I am having is that all the prints come out quite grainy. Once I get my new camera I'm going to try again with less time in the developer but I was wondering if anyone held had used Arista EDU and what their results had been. At $1.99 for 36exp it would be a great deal depending on performance.
