Around Atlanta

I am very biased in saying this, because Atlanta is my favorite city in the US, but I do not think these photos do the city justice.

1. The bottom of the first is too busy. There are too many things competing for my attention and therefore nothing has my attention.
2. The left side of the photo is lower than the right. Also, this isn't something you can fix, but you can see sky on the right of the building but not the left.
3. Need faster shutter speed or steadier hands. This is a little blurry.
4. I like this one more than the other three, but I don't like Steve Harvey (is that him on the billboard?)

Atlanta is very unique in its layout, infrastructure, and architecture, it is very similar to big Asian cities. There are modern skyscrapers juxtaposed to small, two-story Neo-Mediterranean condos. If I were photographing Atlanta, I would try to show the contrast of the old next to the new, if not in the same frame then in different photos of a set. The highways that cut through the city also make long exposure night photos interesting. If you photograph traffic at night in a penthouse in Manhattan, you get brighter blobs of light at the intersection because of red lights. But in Atlanta, you get smooth light trails from a constant flow of traffic, assuming there's no snow because if it snows Atlantians forget how to drive.

Thanks for the C&C. Something I'm looking for. I'm really new to this.

Part of my problem is I lived in Hawaii for 20 years. Seeing Japanese tourists all over the place taking pictures of anything and everything. I'd be like why?? Now when I shoot, I have this thing that I cause myself. That people are looking at me going "why?" So I'm trying to learn to slow down, frame, and take a picture, vice don't it on the move, or trying to be sly about it. Because I'm sure most people don't care or even notice me.
