asahi Pentax k-1000

is the pentax k-1000 any good? i recentley broke my canon ae-1p and i could get this maybe for cheaper than it is to repair my canon. i think that it will come with 3 lenses also. is it worth it or should i get the ae-1p repaired ? thanks

The K-1000 is a simple, but wonderful camera, although it doesn't have any auto-exposure modes.

I started with a camera much like this (Pentax Spotmatic). You should be able to buy the K-1000 pretty cheap. If the lenses are all Ahasi, my guess is about $100 to $150 if all is in good working order. You'll find the lenses just as sharp, but maybe a bit softer than your Canon.

I've just bought a Pentax Spotmatic with f1.8 50mm lens for teaching. Cost me £7.80! IMHO it'll be better than your Canon.
