I Added a Camera to my List: Canon EOS R8 RF 24-50mmF4.5-6.3 Lens
Started out along time ago with an Olympus SLR, then to a NIKON N65 SLR.
Then into Canon EOS Rebel T5 and a T4i. But was never satisfied with the picture results.

The Canon EOS R8 had a lot of the Specs of a Camera $1000 more than it, like the EOS R6 MK II. So $1200 for the R8 and basic lens seemed like a good deal for a
Full Frame Sensor and Mirrorless 24.2 MP. It had some short comings like Battery Life, but I added a Bottom Dual Battery Grip and it solved a couple of things I did not like about the R8.
and I liked the Camera, the Auto-Focus is fantastic, very fast. the Highest Shutter speed is disappointing at 1/4000 s. Overall I liked it.
Until This Past Weekend at a Volleyball Tournament, I was taking Pictures with a Friends 48MP Nikon Z9 with a Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8GI Lens with VR
and then it hit me how important getting a quality lens with a large aperture opening is. Indoor Sport shooting is challenge because of Low Light and Fast moving players.
All of my Pictures with the T4i and the R8 have some blur, not crisp and have no depth. being that I am an Amateur / Hobbyist Photographer investing on a setup like my friends $8000.00 Nikon Z9 setup
is well, not justifiable, and the RF Lenses are very expensive.

The First Picture is from a Canon T5 w/EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II ISO-3200 & F:4.5 Exposure time 1/250 the best I can get with the lens, The picture is washed out.

The 2nd one is from the NIKON Z 9, ISO-12800, F/2.8, Exposure time 1/1250, w/ VR 70-200mm f/2.8G Lens
it's Vivid, bright and clear.

The 3rd one is the Canon EOS R8, ISO-12800, F/4.0, Exposure time 1/1600, w/ EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 (EF to RF Adapter)

But I guess I am asking for is any Ideas on Lens options for a non Professional to get similar results to the Z9 from an R8 that will not require me to take out a 2nd mortgage.

The pictures look fine.
Not much to say in generalities. If you want similar results, then look for a similar quality lens with the same focal length range and F-stop range. Beyond that, it appears that recent Sigma lenses will give excellent quality at better prices with perhaps a slight size/weight gain compared to original mfr glass. Tamron also has a reputation similar to Sigma. I have bought Sigma but I have never bought Tamron, but that has to do with the stores nearby. If I'd had Tamron available, I might have bought some of those.

Fast glass costs, simple as that.

Keep in mind that f:5.6 is two full stops less exposure than f:2.8. That 75-300 with have different maximum apertures, with f:4 being available at 75mm, and 300mm restricted to f:5.6, with some aperture between there at other focal lengths. The 70-200 2.8 lens always has f:2.8 available, so the fact that it's fast, and the fact that it's always fast at any zoom setting, is what makes it expensive.

Ok, So if I am looking for a fast zoom lens for a wide variety of shooting (Sports, outdoor action) what should I save up for.
and or sell my other SLR and DSLR cameras. Which lens would everyone recommend?

Also a good Macro Lens for Close Up

I believe the Kit Lens (RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM) is an OK Portrait lens?

Many years ago a friend covered high school sports for the local newspaper on ASA/ISO 400 film, no flash allowed. He used a Nikkormat and an 80-240 f/4.0 Sun lens (I also own one). And there was no motor drive. He didn't need high shutter speeds - he was skilled at panning and shooting at the peak of action. Save your money, keep your slow lenses, and hone your shooting skills.

At my age I don't have that much time :loyal:
Did I mention that the Volleyball Tournaments are my Grand Daughters.
I also want to shoot night shots or very low light shots like these here I took with a barrowed Nikon Z9.
with a Nikkor VR 70-200mm f/2.8G Lens.
