Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I did a photoshoot last weekend for two families. They want to give one to their grandmother/greatgrandmother for Christmas. There were 2 children involved, so it added some difficulty to getting a good shot of everyone. They have picked out their favorite, but want to know if I can do anything about the blur created by the little boy's hand. I'm not an expert in gimp or anything like that, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Clone it out and grab a hand from one of the other shots. :D

You MIGHT be able to cut and paste another hand on if you could find one; otherwise about all you can do (That I can think of) is maybe use the clone tool to reduce the appearance of the blur a little bit.

Do you have another shot in this same frame with them very close to the same position as they are here? I shot a family once and their daughter's hand was blurry in one shot. Fortunately that shot wasn't the easiest to get. Slow shutter speed, constantly moving kid. I ended up with I think like 20 shots, and about 8 of them were nice. 1 was clearly the best, but the kid's hand was blurred. Since I shot the same position so much I went through a few of the others and found one where the hand was almost in the same position, but not blurred. Replaced it, cleaned it up and done.

Put a big watermark over it....

no, seriously...

This is the only way of fixing that much blur. There are some PS wizheads on here that could do this in their sleep, maybe ask one of them nicely.

Might wanna level that horizon as well, this is something you can do yourself.

Good lighting on the photo.

You might be able to reduce the effect as suggested, but TBH, grandma and great-grandma will never notice it. They'll probably not see a lot of the other issues either and it doesn't matter. They will treasure this photo for reasons we (on this forum) will tear apart. Not to worry. Print it, deliver it and be happy.
