Attempted a "faux-vintage" look

I am seeing a lot of these "faux vintage" pictures around the net now a days.
You know the type, overexposed, tinted, often soft

While playing around with a picture I took for my aunt, I ended up with something similar and wanted to see what I could do with it.

I am not necessarily trying to replicate the look, I would like some cretique on the photograph though, thoughts, Ideas

A collared and tagged kitty really doesn't scream "vintage" to me, especially when surrounded by over-saturated flowers.

I honestly do not know what to call that look.
"vintage" seems to be the word going around.
The hipster pictures...

I guess "vintage" has a lot of different connotations. When I think of vintage, I think of old black and white images taken with simple, Kodak "Brownie" cameras with single element lenses. Here is another twist on vintage. First, I removed the collar and tag and then "sepia toned" it in PS. I then dropped the contrast way down and then hit it with some gaussian blur to make it look a little less sharp. Finally, I vignetted it a little bit.
