I agree! I didn't know him all that well, my parents were divorced when I was very young, but we got together from time to time over the years.

He was a multi-talented guy and I was always proud of his achievements. He was the highway patrol photographer for the area for a while, he was Assistant Commissioner of Safety in Tennessee for a while, and he was the Governor's Aide for a while. He retired from the THP back in the late 60's as a bird colonel. He was also a pilot, as was my mother, and they met at an airport they both flew out of. Apparently it's from him that I got my love of aviation, motorcycles, and photography

Ok first the hog and the leather,then add the straight pipes and chrome it out 100 percent. I've never been a Harley fan, however the guy in the yellow jacket at the top of This Page is my dad back in the late 50's / early 60's astride one.

Now we know why you ride motorcycles...did he ever piggy back you in one when you were younger?

I used to have a lady's one -- Sportster. Then I got married. End of my gallivanting.

Actually, I think he did once. The Yellow Jackets were in a parade when I was a kid, and my mom took us to see him. I sort of remember him taking me for a ride then, but that was a looooooooong time ago
