Canon took three months AFTER it was released to figure out why a flagship camera couldn't focus...

Owners of a $4500 camera have to send in their cameras back to the shop for repairs, so that it will autofocus correctly...

I gotta tell ya, if I were one of them I would be some special kind of mad about this...

It's like how fast women forget the pain of childbirth after the baby is born and they want another one. The people that have the 1DMKIII will forget all about their problems once it's fixed. It's happened to every problem since the D30... once it's fixed you hear very little about it.

It will be interesting to hear if this does solve the problem.

oh fek I'm anticipating buying the 1Ds III when it comes out, maybe I should do a wait and see until summer '08?

I wouldn't be too worried, but why not buy the 1Ds MII for now. My guess is you will be so thrilled with it that you will be happy to wait until the bugs are worked out with the MIII.
