These are just my opinions...

Photo #1 is poorly lit and composed. Judging by the long shadow, the photo was either taken with a singular light source directly in front of the model... Based on the length and the harshness of the shadow at your Aubrey's feet, I'm guessing it was built-in flash on your camera... The lighting did not provide any benefit because it was probably too weak/far away in such an open space, and it did not emphasize the features on Aubrey's face... The photo was shot much too wide, with plenty of dead space in the foreground, background, and on both sides... Aubrey has a fantastic curvy figure from what I can tell (no creep). Having said that, the hanging right arm and stiff left leg ruin the pose for me because they take away from her attractive curves and contour... I like to go by the general rule that says "if it bends, then bend it" even if just a little bit... I think the sunglasses were a bad idea, because the eyes are usually the heart and soul of a good portrait. I also think that the background wasn't properly considered when this photo was posed, because Aubrey appears to have a steel beam growing out of her right shoulder. The white balance is off, making her skin and hair look slightly cold and dull.

I re-edited the photo the best I could... I wonder if you like the difference.

My first honey thought was "she's dressed out of 1986". I was looking for shoulder pads in that jacket! The sunglasses and those shoes need to go. I like the shot of her in the jeans but the flip flops make her look even shorter.

I'm sorry, I don't have any photographic insight for you. Maybe try the shot in the jeans at an offset angle instead of straight on?

These are just my opinions...

I think that photo #2 is slightly better than photo #1, but still has significant problems in lighting and composition. This time, the lighting on Aubrey was a little bit better, in that it brought her more to the forefront of the image... However, the photo as a whole is still underexposed, cool, and dull in terms of lighting and color. Again, the hanging arm and locked leg take away from her curves and contour. I think that the pose is made even more awkward by the fact that her feet are pointing about 45 degrees to her right, her torso is turned about 15 degrees to her left, and her head is facing about 90 degrees to her left. Basically, her whole body is twisting, and it doesn't look natural at all to me. I think the turned head is especially of place in this photo, because she is in the center in the frame from left to right. What was she looking at, and what was the purpose of the dead space to her right? The cropping as a whole was off the mark, with very little space under her feet, and too much space above her and on both sides of her. The steel beam behind Aubrey is growing out from her head and right shoulder.

I appreciate all of the input and it was just a fun gig. She is a photographer as well and we used each other as models. I have no modeling experience so I told her to do whatever she thought looked good. I used my SB700 on the camera and mostly done with 80-200mm 2.8 or 50mm 1.8.

The idea was to go with an urban feeling but she wanted to dress a little more business like for some. Here are her photos of me.

Photo #3 is actually quite nice, and a HUGE improvement of photos #1 and #2. The pose really shows of her amazing curves, and now that the sunglasses are gone, we can see Aubrey's gorgeous blue eyes. The white balance is much better too, although in my opinion the photo seems slightly desaturated and still just a little bit on the cool side. The flash caused a little bit of troubles with shadows, most noticably on the photo just to the left of her black skirt. The beam growing from her head and the grafitti still make the background questionable, but all in all, this is a nice step forward.

I re-edited the photo, mostly for color correction... I wonder if you like the difference.

EDIT: Yeah, she has been building her clients up and been doing portraits, senior portraits and all that few the past few months. She is doing great! I am trying to learn from her and take a step into the portrait scene. A few months ago I would never even point my camera at a person
