Australia by night

i am on a gap year in Australia
and have started taking pictures of cities by night

i am still learning how to use shutter speed
what do you think?

Hi,

Though your pictures are generally nice, there is a couple of things that could have helped.

for #3, by playing with the curves or with the contrast you should be able to get the sky to be a little darker.

For #4, it would have helped if you could have backed up a bit to get the dome in the picture. Also, with a smaller aperture you could have had the right side of the picture in focus, which would have helped as well.

But great job noneless. Please keep showing us your stuff!

I've been to Melbourne a few times in the past 6 months, both times took time out to take some shots, its a great city by night. But The shot of the train station just doesn't look right. The gold is blown out or something. A tripod would have been ideal. Here is one I took during the day to give an idea of its colour. Other pics are great.
