Ugh. I know, I know, I don't like the cropping of this photo. I don't like the tile in the bottom left corner, and I don't like the gate in the top right. But I'd like some feedback on the editing on the dog itself. How is the exposure, contrast?

Thank you so much. Shot this with my Nikon COOLPIX 7x.

First, please note that the two words I capitalized and italicized are part of the same thing. You cannot have composition without framing/cropping.

Moving on. It looks superduper saturated and the WB looks off (there's a blue cast to his white fur). What did the straight out of camera look like?

The framing is really tight, nearly cutting off the top part of the dog's head and paw. Zoom out (or step back) a little to avoid this. You can always crop in later if needed.

My bad! Thank you for correcting me. I'm still learning all this stuff.
This is what the original looked like:

No worries, the jargon comes with time :)

The colors are much better in the original as opposed to being super saturated in the edited version. Definitely shoot wider. Even in the original photo, the dogs rear is chopped and the front paw nearly is too. A reflector would have helped to, if used to light the left side of his face. Watch your horizon lines too.

I say scrap this one and reshoot.
