Auto Chinon 55mm f/1.7 (M42)

Did a review of the Auto Chinon 55mm f/1.7 on my blog.
Here are some of the test shots.
B&W shots are analog and are taken with a Chinon CEII Memotron and AGFA CINEREX (X-ray film)
Color shots are digital and are taken with a Canon 500D.

Good article, always looking for alternative lens options.

Giving thumbs up to image quality and a thumbs down on corner sharpness is a bit contradictory though.

I see your point but it's the overall image quality which makes it a thumbs up for me.
In this case I wrote "Image quality (Mostly stopped down)"

Many like the old Carl Zeiss 58mm f2 (M42) or the Russian copy Helios 44-2 for example.
I guess that many that do would also say that it has good image quality even if this has quite bad corner sharpness wide open, just like this Chinon.

But everyone will not agree with my opinions of course and that's why I try to add many test images to my reviews.
And hopefully these will cover enough so the viewer can get a own opinion.
