can anyone answer that, I am making my self a new avatar it is base on the front of a pentax lens. Can I have the name pentax on the front, or is there some law against it ?

If it's a photo you took of the front of a Pentax lens, no problem.

If it's someone else's photo you have copied, you would probably be violating both copyright and trademark laws.
