Did you try out a modicum of saturation boost? Did it begin to look false then? Unreal? Not like what you really saw?

I used a ND Grad .06 filter and a .03 for a total of .09 ND grad fliter.

So there was no saturation or any boosting in this shot.

I've found that by using filters you get less blow out on sunrises and sunsets.
