Back To The Birds!

Have just realized its been over a week since I have gone out for wildlife. Been so crazy trying to do everything with the kayaking weekend. Needed a break and just to get back out there. Just went to the park with the wife tonight, nothing to interesting species wise but still felt good to work the camera.

Wow! Your photos are really getting better with each post Jason. I really love #1 and #2, especially #2. It's almost a perfect picture, only if the top corner was not cutting off the wings.

I like #2 and #4.
I think that for #2, it would have been better if the bird's wing was not cut off.

I agree with the others. All great shots, but I would prefer to see the entire bird in the BIFs.

I was going to go for some super close/crazy crops ala coastalconn, just didn't work out haha. Oh well, thats the great thing about gulls. Can try out new things/techniques and it doesn't matter if it fails, theres 9 billion of them at this park right now and I can always nail it pretty much whenever its needed.

BTW, I've been checking out you Kayak shots and will comment later on those, fantastic and I'm also a fan of fast action on water. Great to see the expressions

Anyway, that first shot with the yellow and blacks, what a shot and bird that is !!. Absolutely gorgeous in its colours and details Jason. I was out yesterday and took a shot of a Cormorant in flight and far too close, the back end was completely cut off, but its still a keeper for the details at that range. We take what we can when its there
