Backdrops for Portraits

I currently have an 8ft x 10ft backdrop stand with a number of 10x10 muslins in Black, White, Neutral Gray, and Green. I ordered a Black/White collapsible backdrop kit yesterday.

I see a lot of the colored/painted backdrops being used for portraits and I'm wondering what your favorite is and why... Perhaps you can also post a sample pic with it being used.

I like the painted/dyed backdrops, especially when I can use light to create a spot or gradient on it.

I like to use black but have a grey on order for a group dog shoot
