Nice shots, I like #1 and #4. Just curious on the use of f/10 and f/11, any thought on opening the lens up and lowering the ISO or using a faster shutter speed ? I'm not an expert and don't pretend to be one on the internet, I just love asking about exposure decisions so help me learn as much as possible. There are many different way to get proper exposure and i want to know them all :) Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply!
I use the 100-400mm with the 1.4 III teleconverter, that gives me f/8 wide open at 560mm. I've found this setup to be sharper when stopped down to f/10, f/11. I shoot Aperture Priority (AE) and in this shoot had varying light but mostly shade so I bumped the ISO to 2000. Normally I don't like to go over 1600 but the 5D III handles the higher ISO pretty well. Hope that helps! :)

I like #1 a lot. I would like #2 better if the head was more in focus (could just be my eyes on this terrible work monitor).

Your correct, the eye is just OOF. With the bird facing away I was forced to focus and wait for the head to turn towards the sun. The blind was about 15ft from the limb so my DOF was not enough to get the whole bird.
