Well I'm happy to tell you what I do and how to do it, but I have no idea what the original is capable of. With all due respect, A line-by-line of me trying to edit a photo that hasn't been properly edited isn't going to teach you anything.

heres another edit:

Oooh I like this one much better. Is there a way to put the smoke trail in this photo with post processing? I even like the earing in this one. Probably because it isn't squished into the shirt.
The angle is so much better than the first photo. Great job!

The second is MUCH better. The first makes you look like too much of a snot but looks contrived. The second seems truer os something. I think the first need something other than a black background. Sitting in a banquett or at a bar and being contemptiuos of someone trying for her attention. JMHO

I agree some smoke from the cigarette would add a nice touch, and maybe a bit more contrast.
