It is much easier to get good pictures at this kind of place.
Even as a non-religious person, it was impossible for me to come away from Bagan without being moved.
Except for what a guide told me, I couldn't find anything about this Buddha with Japanese features.
Supposedly it was donated about 900 years ago and has sat in that same spot since.

It's crazy to imagine the effort required to transport such a statue 900 years ago. We sure have it easy.

The scale of the place is amazing. For some reason much more impressive than the temples at Angkor, imo. Perhaps because the visitor can get up and see the sights.
