Thanks all for the kind comments! I actually thought that the pic was "ok" but I think we are always more critical of ourselves than others, so I really do feel better now, since you've supported the idea that it is a pretty good image. Q&A time

.
First - Image was shot at 135mm, and I believe I was somewhere in the 8'-10' range away. The eagle was very kind to have made it so easy. I wish he/she would have stuck around more, so I could have gotten a few more from different angles. But I snapped about 3 images, and then it was off. This was the best of those 3.
I currently have a Nikon D80, and this particular case, the lens is a 28-300mm Tamron zoom. I did also use my flash which is a Nissen Di622. I only have an 18-55mm kit lens, and a 100mm Vivitar macro for lenses. I have been trying to get used to the Tamron, and it seems the more I learn about it, the better the images I am getting. I do want to upgrade eventually to something faster, but for now, I have to stick to what I have.
I did do some PP and did crop the image. I didn't want the "subject always centered" look to the image. Though the image did start that way. I knew I needed to change it a bit, and I felt the crop used looked the best out of what I had tried.
Here is the original image, I thought I would post it as a before and after kind if thing....or in this case after then before
