I really like #1! I definitely like the texture and negative space, and as fjrabon said, the tree is really important for balance. :smile:

Yes, #1 for balance and also because there's more dark sky pressing down on the little trees and barn.

I prefer the one with the tree on the left, comp has better balance and I like the extra darkness of the sky. Oh btw really like this!

Yeah, the difference between 1&2 is so stark that this would make an excellent pair of images for teaching a student the importance of image balance.

I would crop both to a panorama aspect. Chop off all the plain sky area.
