Basketball Shots - New to Sports

Hey guys, so I've been shooting basketball for a few games and would like some feedback on how I'm doing. I think I've captured some good action but my editing skills leave a lot to be desired. My two main concerns are getting better separation from the subject and the background (which can be difficult as I'm shooting with a D600 and focusing speed is not great) and white balance. I've been tweaking my basketball photos in Lightroom and they seem to be coming out too warm. It doesn't help that I'm using an un-calibrated monitor.

Not too bad for early days!! I have seen MUCH, much,much worse indoor basketball stuff over the years, from many people on-line.

Yes, these are too warm. I looked at the fist and third in Lightroom, and adjusted the Tint to Minus 45 on one, and Minus 37 on the other, and the whites look white, and the flesh tones looked great!

GOOD JOB of shooting the bench players on that one play. There is always the "action", and if you swing the camera in another direction, you can usually capture "the reaction". If you MISS a big play (it happens), look immediately for a "reaction" shot. I think you show promise, I do. Keep at it, and you WILL get better and better shots!

I agree with Derrel. These are very warm. In lightroom use the wb picker and click on the uniforms or the white banners to get a wb that is close and then you can tweak it if you need to.

I like #3, 5, 7, and 9 the best. Keep at it.

Good shots, but white balance is way off here. If you could allow these to edit, I would post a color corrected one for you to compare.
