Beach Birdies

All pretty good but you should try some more exotic birds that sea gill

you fail before sucsess

Very true :) They were pretty easy targets, but they were there at the time!

I think you got their personalities really well. The gull is a laughing gull and they are probably the most friendly of the Gulls. The Black Bird is a Boat tailed grackle and you caught him in mind stride of a head bob by the looks of it. Nice shots! I have a similar picture to the last one, but with me at the center and the gulls "asking" for more bread!

#1 - more bird, less beach.

#2 - vertical framing.

#3 - crop square, lose top of frame.

#4 - my first thought was, it's a composite.

Great! Thanks for the suggestions! I agree with all of them now that you mention it, and all of the suggestions can be addressed as is by cropping (except 2 to some degree, perhaps). None of them have had much cropping done yet, except for #4, which actually isn't a composite, but it is a fairly significant crop from another picture that included my son feeding the birds. I really liked the formation and the crop just worked really well.

Or how about "What!" for title

Momo3Boys, thank you for telling me what the black bird was. I never really paid attention to birds until I started this whole photography hobby. Now I find myself very lacking in being able to identify what I'm shooting! I was thinking maybe it was a raven, but I really had no clue :)

Heh, that works, too, KmH. I was also thinking of a "you lookin' at me?" The crop really works well. Kind of accentuates the line of poop. Could clone it out, but I think it adds to the photo :) Leads the eye to the gull, though not the part of the gull I'd like your eye to be led...
