I was sat looking out of the window this morning dreaming as you do when this settled on the glass in front of me. Its a Brimstone Moth (Opisthograptis Luteolata). Not especially rare and being on the wrong side of it so to speak, I wouldn't normally have bothered but it stayed with me all day and as the sun worked its way round, it revealed the perfect heart shape in the wing. Something that isn't normally visible. ....and so:

I think it's just fantastic. I'm glad you hung out with the little guy and let him reveal his wonderful markings like this. He's a beauty!
 
Thanks all for your comments. It was still there at midnight last night but had started to become active and you cold see that the heart shape came from the underwings. ISO6400/80mm wide open and so the quality has suffered slightly.

Lovely shot - with their short lives it’s kind of a shame they waste that much time sitting in one place.
