Yes, I have always thought the same: flowers need not necessarily be roses to be beautiful - ALL flowers are beautiful! I once put up the flower of a potato plant here. No one would have guessed that a common plant such as a potato would produce such a beautiful flower.

I really like your photo of the - looks like a thistle of some kind to me, am I right? - wild flower because of many things. One is the bright yellowish background, then the DOF chosen and the crispness on the flower, and of course the butterfly really adds to it all.

There are LOTS of weeds around our house, and I've always thought they were pretty/interesting -- this one is as well. Great colors.:thumbup:
