BEER!!!! glass lighting, need some advice

OK, here's the deal.

That's lit with two softboxes, one on either side. I made a flag to cover the camera as much as possible (well, obviously not the lens). I want to remove those dark spots. If I slice up some white posterboard and put it on either side, would that help kill those dark areas? And for the record, it's a pint of Samuel Smith's India Ale, it's fantastic, and next time I do this I'll set up the lighting first so there's still a real head on the beer that covers the trademark on the glass.... :er: I poured the beer then thought HEY I SHOULD TAKE A PICTURE. :lol:

no idea on the shot. I just used the kitchen over head light last week and set up a reflector and white paper. Mine also didn't come out very good. But I was more interested in drinking it anyway..

Hey, it works. I'm shooting on a white table with white poster board in a dark room. There's a weeeeeee bit of contrast between the two... to say the least. I didn't get this right when I shot the flaming glass for the March photo challenge (no flag, too scared about lighting it on fire because I have a tendency to be clumsy), and would like to.

your already ahead of me. I used photo paper and tinfoil. I noticed if I overlapped the photo paper (shiny) and jacked the contrast you couldn't see the lines.

Honestly, I've seen worse. I've seen worse used on billboards, for cripe's sake.

Don't worry. I've done a lot worse. haha

mickey told me the dark spot in the bottle on this second one is from his nose shadow. so maybe the photo paper would work long as its the gloss. I really cant help beyond that. you know more than I.

I actually think your photo looks pretty good. I see why you want the dark out of the sides though.
