Beginner help please.

I am a new to DSLR . Had just recently purchased Nikon D7000 with 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 lens . I was trying to learn the best way to take a picture at morning fogy day over the lake . I had set my camera to Aperture Priority mode ,ISO 100 , F11 , and exposure compensation to +1 .i am shooting at RAW so white balance set to Programmed SHADE . Composition set to Landscape .
Anyone can tell me if I am on the right track ? Or what's the best way to shoot during morning fog ?

Would be easier to say if you showed us the result. Foggy mornings can have all different levels of light and density, so what was the end result?

Shoot in manual and bracket your exposures. Choose the best when you get home. Problem solved.

If you're shooting a D7000, set your ISO at 400 or even 800; you can get away with it, the ISO performance on that camera is fantastic. It also gives you the ability to be much more flexible with your other settings.

The lake ain't moving. I'd bottom out my ISO and use a tripod if neccessary.

That will work with light light fog and not much light, but I have photos that I've taken even at 1/8 shutter speed where the fog is do dense that it envelopes the everything. That was a pain in the behind!

Thanks a lot guys ! I will post some pictures later . The result was OK but a little over exposed and cold . Need more practice to make it perfect
