They seem a little dark to me

I couldl ighten them up but they were actually taken late afternoon which is why they are so dark. (Sun sets here at 4:30 pm)

I know what you mean. Shortly after I started here I presented a pair of ferns that were taken just before a thunderstorm broke. Everyone said they were too dark, but, lightening them took away from the mood of the moment and wasn't what I saw that day, so I respect what you're saying, even if they are too dark...
