Best buy.....WOW.

Rachel- The word I'm getting is that what these people are saying is towing the company line.....which is a bald faced lie.

If you went into a ritz with incompetent employees, complain to corporate, and the situation should be remedied. I know my manager would hand me my arse on a dinner plate if I lied to a customer about something like that. Oh and best buy's warranties.....I've dealt with y'alls "extended" warranties twice on computers, do you use the "it's a software issue(when hardware is defective) and not our problem" wiht cameras to? I'm an A+ certified computer tech btw.....I guarantee you I was in the right, in one case we finally forced the issue....

i agree that buying from a place like B&H or Adorama is better. BUT...when I bought my 30D from B&H, first they couldn't process my order online and I had to call them. when I did they ragged me for almost 15 minutes offering this, that and the other (literally, they came up with everything. they even threw out the 30 min battery comment). it was so bad. he seriously wouldn't take no for an answer. i even raised my voice about not needing anything extra and he kept pushing. he finally stopped when i said to cancel my order....

my point is that, sometimes you get someone who just wants to please the customer and is knowledgable and other times you get the ultimate company man.

The employees dont wanna help the customers, they just want to sell, sell, sell. I read on another forum that a best buy employee told a lady that was looking for a camera that digital and optical zoom where the same thing!

The best places to shop are the ones who seem like they aren't interested in selling at all.

I was into car audio way back when (not rap crap, but true audio fidelity in the car). I stopped at a shop to look at amps when I was first building the system. The "salesman" literally talked to me for over 2 hours about amps and car audio in general without once trying to get me to buy something.

I later stopped again to decide what I wanted. This time, with my eye on various equipment, the "salesman" talked me out of the big $$$ stuff and tried to talk me into a much much cheaper and smaller item (it was an amplifier) explaining the benefits of it. I bought it and was thoroughly happy at the selection.

After my initial experience, I returned to purchase the rest of my stuff. Not once did the guy ever try to sell me something to make a profit, but sold me what I needed to achieve what I wanted even when the profit was lower.

I bough a 500 dollar camcorder they told me it was compatible with a MAC computer..I used it 3 times and on the 17th day i decided to put them on my computer...long behold it wont work on my mac =( tried to take it back and the 14 days were up...now im trying to sell the dang thing and no one wants it...gerrrr....haha...Made me so mad they told me it would then wont take it back cause it doesnt. BS! haha

if its usb or firewire it should work... theres no software issues to cause a problem.. you just plug it in, and it iMovie should read it.. every video camera I've ever touched (cheap and expensive) worked with my macs
