Just a quick update, I got my 7d and am having a blast with it. Thanks for all the advise and the commisserating.

I would have taken the coupon to another store and told them that you would prefer to spend your money with them instead of Best Buy.

I used to do that all the time because of the crappy service the Best Buy near me had. Especially for large expensive items that they have to bring up from the back. I could never seem to get anybody to go get it for me. I would even tell them "hey - I want to buy one of these" and they would "go get someone", never to return. When they did that, I would just rip the tag off the shelf and take it to another store. I would just hand it to the person at the customer service counter (of the other store) and tell them I want one of those. They would always match the price, and sometimes discount it.

Yep, I did. Seems a manager and an unhappy customer equals a discount on everything I purchased.
