I currently only have a 50mm 1.8 lens. I am soon going to start taking photos at nightclubs and parties etc, but the 50mm is way too zoomed in for the crowds I'd have to shoot in. I have a canon EOS 60d and my price range, if possible, is under $400. If someone could give me a rundown of a few lenses and WHY they're good, that'd be amazing.

18-55Kit lens or 17-55(50) 2.8

50mm should be a nice lens to shoot nightclub photos, Canon 35mm f2.0 and Sigma 28mm f1.8 should be good for you, I can't really get what you need, Wide aperture or Wide angle? Tokina 16.5-135mm f3.5-5.6 may also be a good choice for you. Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 is one more option.

Canon 35mm f2.0 and Sigma 28mm f1.8 provide less yet fixed focal length and wide aperture.
Tokina 16.5-135mm f3.5-5.6 seems a very nice sweet spot with a variety of focal length options, but I'm not sure about price and quality.
Sigma 18-50mm is also one attractive option. f2.8 is nice!

Canon EF35mm f2 because its wider than the 50 and faster than any zoom

You have to keep in mind how tight night clubs are. You won't have enough space for group shots. Primes are nice, sometimes I use them but the majority of the time you will be in a FOV between 24-35mm.

OP - my suggestion would be to consider the lenses I mentioned, drag your shutter, crank up the iso, with flash. You will expose your subjects well and still get all the lights going on in the back to set the mood.

Sigma EX DG Aspherical DF 15-30mm F/3.5-4.5 Lens For Canon

Old model... but decent lens and $250 to $400 on ebay you'll be shooting at iso 1600 and 3200, but w/ a 60d that shouldn't be an issue, especially once downsized for display.

The 17-55 f2.8 would be a better lens (due to f2.8, plus longer reach / "normal perspective" when you need it), but at $1000+ it blows your budget to bits.
