Can others edit my Photos

Hi there!
So I am going travelling soon and I am planning on video blogging my journey. I have a Canon 750d, but currently only have the stock 18-55mm lens, which isn't great in low light. I want something that I can just film myself talking with. Any recommendation on lens? I don't have a huge budget, but could part with more cash than planned if required,

Thanks :)

Tamron 17-50 and Sigma 17-50 are the 2 most common choices.
1st is sharper without stabilization but I'd rather have it (and do).
Sigma is better in my opinion.

Both are half the price of the Canon's 17-55.
(All of them are 2.8)

It is better to let people know what you really mean about "don't have a huge budget" because budget is a relative term. Your small budget could mean thousands.

As for lens recommendation, I 'll suggest just stay with your kit lens which I assume is the STM lens. I believe lens application on video should be somewhat the same as photos. It all depends on what you need to capture. When you film yourself and you are relatively close to the camera, a wider aperture may blur the background. In that case, you may choose a smaller aperture anyway.

So, it really depends on the situation and the result you are looking for.

So my budget is anywhere up to 4/500?

Well my kit lens isn't proving to work well in low light situations, and honestly, the blurrier the background the better ;)

Well if you want best then this little baby would be the one. Your $40,000.00 short on price range though.

If you change you mind and decide pay the difference don't forget the adapter.

If you want wide angle pick this up as well.

Probably not what you're looking for...

I'd recommend a wide angle compact prime lens like this I think would be wide enough.

- Which focal length or range works better with your work? This will affect the field of view.
- f/2.8 vs f/4 is one stop. So it may just mean shooting with ISO800 vs ISO1600, ISO1600 vs ISO3200. And of course, it could also mean ISO3200 vs ISO6400. It all depends on the situation. If you usually shooting video at ISO3200, then you can shoot at ISO1600 with a f/2.8 lens at the wide side of your current lens.

First find out what focal length(s) you need, and then which settings you normally choose for your video. From there, you maybe able to set your goal and look for lens that you need.

i.e. You shoot mostly at 55mm focal length with f/5.6, shutter speed of 1/30 and ISO6400 and you like to make a video with less noise. So getting a 50mm f/1.8 may help if shallow Depth of Field works for you. With that you can shoot at f/2.0, 1/30 and ISO1600.

Of course, adding aux light(s) is another option.
