Best PAS

Ok so i'm getting ready to deploy again (Active Duty Military) and i'm going to Afghan. I don't want to take my d5000 because of it's size and many other reasons which is why i've decided to get a point and shoot for this deployment. Now I've been looking around at some different types and brands to try to find the one that will best fit my needs.. it must be able to with-stand cold weather, extreme heat, be dust/sand proof (this is a must) and doesn't have to be waterproof but this is a big plus. I've looked a lot into the Stylus-Tough 8010 and the Sony TX5 but if there are other options out there i want to consider all of them before i make a purchase.. so all info/input will be greatly appreciated..

Have you checked out the new Nikoncoolpix P700, small, compact and feels like a real camera.

I don't think that the P700 will fit my needs.. the pas i get will be put through some ruff conditions and i don't think that the P700 will hold up
