Bird on a leaf

Taken in the British Virgin Islands this summer. the bird was stunned so we moved it to safety from the parking lot we found it in.

Poor thing, I think you can add more emphasize by cropping toward the left.

My major critique with this photo of a cute subject (no doubt!) is that while focus is on the wing feathers, showing all their detail really nicely, it no longer is on the little bird's eyes and beak, which is where I think it ought to have been. So I guess a too wide open aperture had been chosen for this photo, with too shallow a DOF.

Second point of critique is the bright (overexposed) hand which clearly distracts the eye away from this little bird. Not even his cuteness can compete with the brightness of that hand.

And another point of critique is about the replies given, which do NOT follow the guidelines of General Critical Analysis, which is why I moved this photo out of there (for the time being, maybe?) and into Landscape and Nature.

I really like the composition, it's a neat photo. As the reply above, the birds face is a bit out of focus. The overexposure seems alright for this photo, sometimes I like the brightness in a certain one.
