Birds of The Scarlet Letter

On a recent, very nearly uneventful, outing, I saw this birdhouse and the letters on it immediately made me think of the word "Sinner."

I wonder what the poor little birds who live here did to get marked in such fashion for all the bird world to see? :lmao:




And okay, yeah, the name of the wildlife refuge is Seven Islands Nature Refuge...but they have these birdhouses all over the place, and this is the ONLY one I saw marked like this--the rest mostly have numbers on them.

No, I'm pretty sure it was "Sinner," because I think I saw a Sparrow and a Carolina Wren cavorting around together, suspiciously close to this birdhouse. Probably living together in birdie sin. :lmao:

You're quite right. I considered that, and probably should have gone with it. But I generally work on the basic premise that NOBODY will really *get* my oddball sense of humor. :lmao:
