I was curious if there are any programs people heard of or use that creates neat effects with black and white. Possibly mimic the look you get from a film camera??

CS4 and Elements also do a pretty good job..

Nik Software has programs and plugins that do this. Silver effects pro will allow you to select a specific film and mimic it.

nik silver efex is definitely the way to go if you want to emulate black and white emulsion

Both Photoshop and Lightroom 2 are good programs for editing. Photoshop can be enhanced by B&W plugins as well.

Why not just buy a film SLR? They're pretty cheap these days.
