Black & White shots from the Louvre

I'm starting to really enjoy converting images to black and white. When it's the right image for the conversion that is. So far I found that images that already are mostly monochromatic look better in black and white especialy if you increase the tonal range with levels. The last shot is actualy not from the Louvre but I threw it in because I like the "silver" look it has.

I really like #1. Thats a great shot! This really isn't my style, but these are cool.
 
I dunno why, but #3 stands out to me most...lighting's great, and though it's a classic shot, you really did it well.
 
These are beautiful. The contrast is spectacular. I love the lines in the first one and the textures in the last one are beautiful. Great work.
