Blind Landing -- Another Boat Series

Another lighthouse trip, but this time with a trawl.

We call it a blind landing, because the captain can't actually see the ledge he's landing on:

We caught 5 mantis shrimp on our night trawl, so my fellow instructor feigned eating it for the kids/camera, haha.

And a Striped Sea Robin we caught--one of the largest I've ever seen on board our boat.

I am really digging #4 a lot. I've been enjoying creative depth of field lately (in other people's photos, somehow I just can't get it right in mine), and the placement of the sun is bang on. I like your edit on #1 as well.

Thanks! I really had to be patient and wait for the boat to bounce in the right position. I also agree that the edit is much better on the first. Adds a bit of dynamism to the photo.

Haha the wind was blowing fierce when we first tied off--so we couldn't have gone "leash-less."
