I went on a little excursion to Bodega Bay today and took some photos. Any comments and criticism would be much appreciated. Fun Fact: Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" was filmed at Bodega Bay. :thumbup:

Honestly, most are a bit bland in my layman opinion. The stump isn't very interesting. Splashing water could use a little more foreground (cause of splash). The couple on the beach I'd like to see set a bit further to the left. A bit closer to the boy or no boy. It feels like he was the main subject but too small/distant. Love the composition of the bird and what appears to be a tiny water drop on the tip of the beak. The rolling waves and huge rocks....I'm envious of that one. LOVE it!!!

1. Love the shot I feel it's alittle soft. But it's got a interest vibe to it.
4. Very nice just wish the foot wasn't cut off. Maybe a different crop.
8. Love this one too. I think it's perfect and I'd buy it lol.

1,2,5,7,8 all decent, with #8 being quite dramatic. I actually liked #1, with the sunlight and shadows and the old siding and wooden flooring...a lot of "feeling" there, in that shot. #8 has those three lovely bits of sea wave action, and then the fourth space where the distant ocean is flat...and the green semi-transparent ocean water up close...the rocks...very nice collection of seaside elements in #8.

I like #7 for the dramatic effect of capturing the water in it's tracks as it splashes over the rocks. And #8 for the exact opposite reason, as your slow shutter speed gave the water movement. #6 would have been a much stronger composition is you shot it at a lower angle, which would have really brought the rocks with those shadows to the forefront of the composition. And picture #4 of the Seagull would have been nearly perfect if you didn't cut off it's leg. I know it's tough at times to look at the whole picture before pushing the shutter release. In situations like this leave some "fudge" room. A little crop here and there can always take care too much room, but there is nothing you can do to fix the cut off foot.

1 and 8 stand out. Some of your horizons feel a little tilted. It's a nice trip down memory lane as I recently moved back east from Petaluma and I've been to Bodega many times.
