Sure, this was a very quick setup. I was really just testing a lens, but I liked the result.
I used a flash with a home-made diffuser, white background, and a salvaged lens of about ~120mm focal length, f/3, lots of aberrations... in fact many shots are totally unusable with this lens, like this one of some burnt driftwood on a beach (yuck):
I shot a few digital images to preview the flash lighting, then fired off the speed graphic with a sheet of APX-100 film loaded and popped the flash.
Beautiful. This really challenges the traiditional definition of bokeh - love the whispy branches coming off. Is it that shallow due to it being only f/3 on large format, or because of the aberrations?
