bokeh/lens issue?

Hello.

My husband recently dropped my 20 year old 50mm lens and broke it. He's replaced it with a new one, but this evening I noticed that there is a tiny spot in the bottom left corner of any blurred lights that I have never seen in my photographs before. I've cropped out the subject so you can see the spots.

Is this the lens or something else?

should i take it to the retailer or try to have someone clean it? it's literally brand new.

Shine a flashlight through the lens off the camera and see if you see anything
I would suspect something on the back of the lens rather than the front
