Yes with flash. It was too dark to get the bird without though I would have preferred that.

I think next time I go to Colombia I will try to get a lot more pictures of birds with flash, the visibility in the cloud forest can be quite poor, but in open areas like Los Llanos it is amazing.

I have been there but should go again, when I went I only had a 300 mm lens which was not good enough for that sort of place (fine for parks etc) as this photo shows

I went with a guide, but I don't think you have to do you? Also can you get there by public transport? What do you think about hiring a car,any advice?

Where I went years ago, it was good for monkeys not so good for birds possibly because of the cats, but it could have changed.
