I very recently made a big transition in life going from full time employed to college student. Over the last year I put a little aside each month as treat to myself for this transition so I would be guilt free in buying things I always wanted. I went to Allen's Camera (of Fro Knows/ Jared Polin reviews) and picked up some stuff I've wanted but didn't really need. I should add that if you're in the Philly area, the crew at Allen's Camera were wicked cool and very knowledgeable. They will be my go-to shop from here on out, despite the incredibly pretentious camera shop 1 mile from my apartment who looked at me like I had 4 heads when I asked if they had Cinefoil.
Anyways, here's what I picked up:
That's a lot of coin but I was guilt free and enjoyed buying it.
Anyways, here's what I picked up:
- Wescott X-Drop portable backdrop and stand (and 2 backdrops) - as someone with 17 nieces and nephews, I've become in demand so this thing packs easy and does a quick and easy job.
- Sekonic 458DR - My Shepard Polaris did a fine job but I wanted something with PocketWizard features
- X-Rite Color Passport Checker- why did I wait so long to buy one!?
- Elinchrom D-lite 200ws - this fourth monolight rounds my lighting kit as a hair light/ kicker
- Matthews C stand- again, why did I wait so long!?
- Pocket Wizard Plus X - needed a few more
- Rolling moonlight case - holds all my lights, cables, power pack and reflectors
- Nikon MB-D10 Battery Grip- for my second D700 body
That's a lot of coin but I was guilt free and enjoyed buying it.
