Bow Hunter | First shoot with the Einstein

Here's a photo I've been wanting to shoot for some time now.


I finally ordered the Einstein 640 and vagabond min and figured it was time I headed into the woods with some lights.

I used both my 640 and sb900 on full power, as I wanted to kill as much ambient and get a real dark blue sky.

I used a white beauty dish on the Einstein, sb was bare.

Interesting setup. Did you take any where you were you turned more to the right showing more of your face?

Good shot. I like to see people get there lights out. Some creative stuff can be done as you show here.

Don't get me wrong, I love shooting natural(available) light, but theres something 'unique' about using strobes.

Actuallyyyyyy, I did get bit once lol. But most of my body was covered this time, even my face so they left me alone haha


Heres another angle, I could of composed it a little better, but as you know if you ever took any self portraits, it gets extremely tedious when trying to move just a fraction.

The only thing that struck me odd was with the bow pointed down like that, it looked like the big scary hunter was shooting very small game.

Ahhhh yes, I see what you mean. It should be aimed at like a 15ft grizzly rather than a squirrel haha.

Ugh, no. You ever try strapping a grizzly to your hood? Dang things weigh a ton. Stick with the squirrel, lot less effort getting one of those things up there and you can just lash them to the hood ornament. Lol

Nice shot! I like archery but never was very good at it.friend of mine was very good at it and So accurate with it that he was better then a lot of people shooting open site long rifles.I use to watch him hit center of small targets pretty far out it was scary.

I had a friend like that also. Shot with a recurve? I think its called. Not a compound but one of those that just look like a bent piece of wood. He was really accurate.


I can't wait to experiment some more.
