First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! May the best of this last year, be the worst for this coming for everyone.

Actually, to my eye it was straight. After checking however, I see it is tilted slightly. Thanks for pointing that out

I like the contrast in the boy's shirt ... in the picture of the water though ... Some of the waterfall looks a bit like curved icicles. I like both images though

The truth is, it was so cold that day, I'm surprised there weren't any icicles in the waterfall

I like the boy. The other is a nice conversion with lots of zones but the image doesn't have a lot of drama.

True, not much drama, I guess I liked the leading lines from all angles to the stream, that leads down to the shallow falls and the rock.
The trees on the right of the image, the water course from the top of the image, the fence on the right of the waterway, and the shadow of that fence and the concrete wall on the left of the waterway, all leading to the falls with the rock, and then on out of the frame from there.
